Hi friends!

Today's rare Friday post will be short and sweet, but full of goodies! Today we'll be talking a little bit about the color of the year (as named by Patone) and my advice for you on color mixing!

LIfe update quick: My 5 year old, Kinley, has been sick most of the week, so I've been cooped up in the house with her lately. She seems like she's feeling better, but has had several vomiting + diarrhea episodes (TMI?).

It's so sad as mommas to see our little ones sick and not be able to do anything about it. We're taking her to the doctor later this morning to see what they say, but it looks like she may be on the path to feeling better, thank goodness!

What is Patone?

They are basically the color experts.

You can download the Pantone app in the app store to play around and design things with color. Pantone connects color with technology and creativity. The app is pretty fun, but I haven't quite figured out how I might like to use it myself.

Currently taking suggestions...

BUT, it's fun to look around. They pretty much have every shade of color you can imagine and every year they name a color of the year!

This years color was Ultra Violet! I think it caught a lot of people off-guard with such a bold color, but hey! Don't knock it til you try it, right?!

Well I tried it...

And, I have to say, I like Ultra Violet on me BETTER than I thought I would!

What do y'all think?

It's pretty bold!

Purple has always been such a bright color (or at least this shade), but it's also been known to be a color of power AND royalty. The color actuallly has a lot of history!

Ultra violet:

Purple in general is NOT a color I would normally wear (especially such a bright shade of purple) but when I saw this sweater on the sale rack at H & M, I decided to give it a try! Not only did I love the thought of being bold with color, I also like how chunky and oversized the sweater is. Bonus!

I paired the sweater with a pair of Rockstar jeans from Old Navy that are at least five years old (you know how I roll) and a pair of nude heels to dress up the look a little bit!

My Takeaway Message:

My takeaway message from this whole post is to BE BOLD.

Don't be afraid to try anything just because you don't think you can pull it off, or because you think it's not "you"...beause you never know...You just might end up liking it!

If you see something you want to try in-store, JUST TRY IT ON. Because, you never know!

If you try it on and love it, GREAT! If you try it on and hate it, then so what?! Skip it and move on.

I like to push people out of their comfort zones a little bit with outfits, and color is a great way to do that!

Let me know!

I'd love to know your guys' thoughts on Pantone's color of the year 2018 and what you think about this bright, bold sweater!

I'd also love to hear what color YOU'VE been loving lately!

Leave your comments below.

I hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend, and thank you guys so, so much for stopping by!

xoxo, jodi
