This post is going to be short and sweet, but I'm so excited to share this look with you! As you may know, gingham print is super trendy right now!!! If you didn't know, well that's what I'm here for :) I wanted to try gingham out, but didn't want to break the bank. So, you can imagine my excited when I came across this red and white gingham bell-sleeve top for only $16. I've never been one to be afraid of taking chances, at least with personal style ;) I have to say, I actually loved how this outfit came together!
I got the top from Boo Hoo, and this was actually my first time ordering from there. The price was amazing ($16) and the quality is decent. It's not super high quality, but I wasn't really expecting it to be. I haven't washed it yet, so I'm curious how it holds up in the wash. It's also a stretchy material, which I liked. FYI, the sizing does run a tad on the smaller size, at least in this shirt. (I ordered a size 8, and am normally a 4 or 6)
I just love the bell sleeves on this top, and the red tie detail around the elbows. It is a real tie, not a fake one. Both features add such a feminine touch to the shirt. In contrast with those feminine details, the gingham that gives it the "cool" factor. This shirt will also transition easily into fall as the temps start to cool off. I'm definitely excited pair with jeans or if I'm feeling sassy...my black faux leather leggings :) Rawr.
The shirt also comes in black and white gingham, as opposed to the red and white that I have on. I paired the shirt with cutoff denim shorts from Forever 21 and my white flats from Kohl's for a casual look. The basket I actually got in Jamaica on vacation for $8 and I fell in love. I thought it would be perfect for a picnic! :) Now...I just need to plan a picnic :)
It's funny...the photographer who shot these photos (aren't they amazing?!) and I kept calling this look my "picnic outfit", and that's exactly how I envisioned this look. I loved how these pictures turned out and how the photos really showcase the shirt. The photographer I worked with, Arzu Vargas Photography, was absolutely amazing and I am sooo happy with how these turned out!
I would totally wear this look to a picnic in the park with peanut butter jelly sandwiches stuffed in my picnic basket. And two cute kids who want to picnic with me :)
How about you guys? Have you tried gingham print yet? Is it your style or no? If not...no worries, that's why its called PERSONAL STYLE, y'all ;) As always, you do you!! You can shop the outfit via links above.
Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend. Until next time!
