Pink Bomber + Gray OTK Boots
First off, for those of you who are unaware, OTK stands for over-the-knee. Now that we have that cleared up, lets jump to it!
I realize it's about to hit, like, a hundred degrees here in Houston very soon, but I just can't seem to give up my OTK boots...quite yet. I suppose I'm going to have to put them away and replace them with my sandals at any moment (sad face emoji), but when I say I'm obsessed with OTK boots, I'M OBSESSED! I think probably because they are so versatile. You can pair them with skinny jeans, skirts, dresses, and even shorts and rompers are super cute with them, too...The possibilities really are endless!
OTK boots appear to lengthen the legs and can really pull an outfit together. When wearing a dress or skirt, I like to pair OTK boots with long sleeves, or even three-quarter sleeves versus short sleeves. I just feel like the outfit balances out a little bit better.
That being said, IF I were to break my own rule (which I do a lot, actually, ha!) - I would totally rock a tank top, skinny jeans, and OTK boots. I do seem to like that combo. Don't ask me why, it's just something I've noticed that I gravitate towards. But, you do you, by all means!
So, lets talk about the rest of the outfit. This pink bomber (similar, similar, or similar) was on the sale rack for $12 at Marshall's. Y'all. I mean...you can't even go to a movie these days for that price, heaven forbid you want popcorn and a soda, seriously! Amiright?!
The bomber was a little on the bigger side, in terms of size, but I definitely could NOT pass up that price, so I bit the hook. And I'm so glad I did! This little number is soft in it's color, but edgy in it's design, giving it that cool, street-style look.
The dress is a VERY simple black dress (similar, similar, similar). I believe I got it at H&M for less than $10. I went with a tighter fitting dress, since my jacket was a bit on the bigger side. Oh, and don't forget.....if you're really in love with a piece, but it's not your size or doesn't quite fit right, there's ALWAYS a tailor who can make it to fit very easily (unless of course it's too small), so don't automatically throw it out just because the fit isn't perfect!
Now let's talk about these gray OTK boots that I'm wearing (similar, similar, similar). I got these at Nordstrom Rack for $80, which is a great price for OTK boots. Plus gray is a great neutral that can go with anything, so I pulled the trigger. The ones I've linked for you above are on MAJOR SALE, because we're heading into summer season. Buy now, wear later!
My whole outfit here gives off a cool, sort of edgy vibe with the straight lines of the dress and the cut of the jacket. But I love that the pink color softens up the look a bit. In general, I've noticed I tend to mix soft and edgy pieces together. But if you wanted a more feminine look----> instead of a black dress, you could do a more flowy dress, with maybe a floral print, or even some lace or ruffle details :)
If I were to do this look again, I would have added a statement necklace to give the outfit a little more pizazz! But I'm still learning, too, y'all, so just bear with me!!! :) :)
